Blink and you’ll miss it: Luci Mie Traditrici, The Killing Flower is coming to the Royal Opera House, in English, for one night only.
The opera tells the bloody tale of Renaissance composer Gesualdo: a life which seethes with passion, betrayal and murder. Composed by Salvatore Sciarrino, Italian master of the avant-garde, this new work characteristically toys with the power of inaudibility: expect extended pauses, whispers, muted conversation.
The bold, brilliant Michael McCarthy, Artistic Director of Music Theatre Wales is so determined to immerse his audience in the opera, he has placed them on stage. Prepare to be plunged headfirst into this wicked little tale.
McCarthy will give a pre-performance talk- another reason not to miss this one-off. Currently sold out, but check Music Theatre Wales‘ twitter for last minute releases.
